GlenAllachie

Origin: Speyside, Scotland

Billy Walker is a living legend in the Scotch Whisky industry with a career spanning more than 40 years. As former owner and Master Distiller of BenRiach, GlenDronach and GlenGlassaugh distilleries he has built an enviable reputation as one of Scotland’s leading distillers and blenders. In 2017, Billy bought the GlenAllachie Distilling Company. The distillery was built in 1968 and sits on a 20-acre site in Speyside at the foot of Ben Rinnes. It has four stills and, unusually, two separate spirit safes, one for each set of stills. GlenAllachie used to produce malts only used in blending. But now Billy is releasing the distillery’s first stand-alone single malts. They are best described as rich, full bodied, fruity spirits with characteristic butterscotch and toffee notes. None of the range is chill- filtered or coloured.

GlenAllachie 12 Year: The heart of the range GlenAllachie 12 Year is bottled at 46%, non chill filtered and with no added colouring. The casks used are American Oak, Sherry Cask and Virgin Oak to create the beautiful flavours of honey, marzipan and bananas, with lashings of butterscotch, raisins and a delicate hint of mocha.

Other aged expressions are available from time to time.
